What do the Friends do

We organise and run the fundraising events.

Money from these events then buys extra equipment and experiences which enhance the children’s school life.

Why get involved

Getting involved gives you the chance you get to know other parents, contribute to improving the school and find out about what’s going on more quickly than you otherwise would.

What Events are Coming Up?

Pizza Days 13th and 14th June 2019

Circus – 16th July 2019

On Thursday 18th July the Circus is coming to Maidenbower Junior School!

Join us for an evening of fun and entertainment. School opens from 4.30pm with stalls selling food, drinks and circus themed memorabilia, the circus bell tent opens at 5.30pm with show starting at 6pm. The show last 2hrs with a 30min interval where you can again purchase food and drinks.

Tickets are on ‘early bird’ sale from 8am on 23rd April 2019 at £9 a ticket until 3pm the 6th May 2019. After this tickets will be £10 each. Sales are first come first served with a ticket maximum of 8.

Please note children under 2 can sit on parents lap and although there is no charge for the ticket please ensure you select an under 2 ticket when booking so we are aware of numbers.

Please also be aware all children should be supervised by an adult/someone over the age of 16. They will be refused entry if this is not the case.

Please note as per Fireworks your ticket for this event will be distributed via your childs school/class so please ensure you selected/entered this on check out (it can be the same child referenced on each ticket).

What Have We Bought?

The Amphitheater in the centre of the Playgrounds, the Window Film pictures that are displayed on the South side of all windows in Lower and Upper school, and each year group have had a contribution towards the new forest school site.

In 2014 the PTA contributed £5000 towards the new lower and upper school activity trails.

Other purchases from previous years

  • The new bike shed, which was officially opened on 23rd July 2013.
  • Clocks for the cloakrooms, asked for by The School Council.
  • New Wet Play boxes with new games chosen by the children – paid for with the money raised at the Mothers’ Day Secrets Room.
  • Other purchases; high visibility jackets and baseball caps for trips, and new playground equipment including Space Hoppers.

How Can I Help?

Help at Events

We are always looking for people willing to help out here and there. Email us at pta@maidenbowerjunior.w-sussex.sch.uk giving us your contact details; email and telephone numbers; stating you are happy to help at events. We will add your details to our volunteer list and contact you before the next event. Thank You

Join the Committee

If you would like to help organise and run events then come along to a meeting. We desperately need more people to do this. Details of the meetings are posted online and on Facebook. Or email the PTA asking for the day and time of the next meeting. Thank You.
